BLACK, Hugo. (1886-1971). Nominated to be Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He held that office from 1937 until 1971. He is said to be one of the most influential Supreme Court Justices in the 20th century. Typed letter signed, one page on the stationery of the Supreme Court, Chambers of Justice Hugo L. Black. Dated December 11, 1968 to Mr. Sandy Adelman. Black mentions his recent television appearance and mentioned he has no photographs to send.
