28) REAGAN, Ronald (1911-2004). Ameican politican and actor. He served as the 40th President of the United States (1981-1989). Very rare, one of a kind historic Official Photograph, The White House, Washington signed. An image of Ronald Reagan being sworn in as the nation’s 40th President. Oblong 10"x8" signed and dated by Reagan on the lower light margin using a black ink pen. In addition also signeing the photograph is Nancy Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Barbara Bush, Jimmy Carter, Warren E. Burger and Senator Mark O. Hatfield 1/20/81. Hatfield was Chairman of the Reagan Inaugural Committee. Written on the verso:"All signatures on this photograph personally obtaine by Senator mark O. Hatfield of Oregon. Senator Hatfield was also Chairman of Reagan’s inaugural Committee. This photograph was signed at the request of Stephen Koschal of Verona, New Jersey. Jimmy Carter autographed this photograph at Mark Hatfield’s house. Warren E. Burger signed this photograph two weeks later while having lunch with Senator Hatfield.
V/P Bush autographed this photograph in his office in the Capitol Building after having lunch with Senator Hatfield and Stephen Koschal in the Senate Cafeteria. Note: I was shocked to see a photograph of Ronald Reagan on a side table in the Bush office that was inscribed to Bush by a secretary and signed with an Autopen signature. This photograph hand signed by seven is in fine condition. In January 2003 a Florida Autograph Gallery sold a similar photograph, which only had a sentiment signed by Ronald Reagan and dated Jan 20, 1981 sold for $3,500.00.
