WALCOTT, Jersey Joe (1914-1994). World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, actor. He broke the world’s record for being the oldest man to win the world’s heavyweight title at the age of 37. Later that was broken by George Forman. In 1952 he knocked out undefeated Rocky Marciano in the first round. As an actor, Walcott co-starred with Humphrey Bogart and Max Bear in a movie on boxing.
