PIPER. William T. (1881-1970). American airplane manufacturer. Founder of Piper Aircraft. During WWII, he delivered over 5,600 Piper Cubs to the U.S. Government. The Piper Cubs easily eluded enemy aircraft. The aircraft is a two-seater plane that became popular as a family aircraft.
