JOHNSON, Lyndon B. (1908-1973). 36th president of the United States. Succeeded to the presidency following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Typed letter signed, Congress of the United States, August the sixteenth 1941. Johnson writes in part: “ Thanks for giving me the chance to help Geraldine secure a job in order that she might continue her college work at Sam Houston. Today I got in touch with the proper officials and gave her a very strong endorsement for a place, and I surely hope that things work out as we want them to. At any time that I can assist you or one of your friends don’t fail to let me know...” A nice early example................................SOLD
