- GACY, John Wayne (1942-1994). America's #1 Serial Killer. Convicted of the rape
and murder of 33 boys. Twenty-seven of which he buried in a crawl
space under the floor of his home. Known for his statement of
saying he was only guilty of running a cemetery without a license.
His trial and execution was a media sensation.
His painting "Boxing Hall of Fame" measures
16 in. by 20 in. Gacy has painted the chest, arms and hands with
boxing gloves of two fighter preparing to punch each other. Signed
"J.W. Gacy" on the lower right edge of the painting.
On the verso Gacy has written: "Boxing Hall of Fame,
John W. Gacy, oil 1212." In addition he has written:
"Enjoy these boxing gloves as much as I enjoyed doing
it for you. Best wishes John W. Gacy."
- At different shows held in New York and
Ft. Lauderdale, several boxers who were inducted into the Boxing
Hall of Fame have hand signed this painting. Signed by Jersey
Joe Walcott, Ray Boom Boom Mancini, Beau Jack, Floyd Patterson,
Kid Gavilan, M(uhammad) Ali and Aaron Pryor. There is plenty
of room for the new owner of this painting to have additional
boxers sign.
On special commission, Gacy has painted only two of these paintings
therefore this one can be considered rare. SOLD
