His Death Ruled A Homicide
BRADY, James (1940- August 4, 2014) Assistant to the President of the United States, appointed by President Reagan in January 1981. White House Press Secretary. On march 30, 1981 John Hinckley, Jr. attempted to assassinate The President and shot both president Reagan and James Brady. Brady was seriously wounded by the gunshot wound to his head. On November 30, 1993 President Bill Clinton signed the “Brady Bill” into law requiring a 5 day waiting period and background check on all handgun purchases. On
February 11, 2000 President Clinton officially named The White House Press Briefing Room “The James S. Brady Press Briefing Room” in Brady’s honor. Brady’s death has been ruled a homicide. It was a result of injuries suffered 33 years ago. John Hinckley, Jr. could be charged with his death.
