STANFORD-TUCK, R.R. (1916-1987). British fighter pilot, flying ace and test pilot. In 1942 he was hit by anti-aircraft fire and was forced to land in France where he was taken prisoner. Highly decorated, he is credited with 29 victories. He survived being shot down several times. T.L.S. 4 July 1977, he writes in part: “...I have great pleasure in enclosing a signed photograph of myself, taken in one of my Hurricanes of 257 Squadron, in 1940. I hope I have signed it in the right placeā¦.” Very boldly signed “Bob Stanford Tuck.” In fine condition.....$45.00
