From the Personal/Private Files of John Wayne Gacy
GACY, John Wayne. (1942-1994). Convicted for the rape and murder of 33 boys between 1972 and 1978. Twenty-seven of his victims were buried in a crawl space under the floor of his home. Best known as “The Killer Clown.” His registered clown costumes are “Patches” and “Pogo.” He is also known for his statement of saying he was only guilty of running a cemetery without a license. His execution was without question a media sensation.
Two color photographs, one is of Gacy as Patches the Clown. Measures 4”x 6” half length pose signed on the light area of his shoulder “John W. Gacy AKA Patches.” On the verso he has written: “Patches the Clown AKA J.W. Gacy, Taken 1977 as seen in Life Mag. Feb. 1979.” In excellent condition.
The second photograph can be considered quite rare. Color photograph of Gacy as Pogo the Clown. Measures 3.5”x 5”. On the verso Gacy has written: “Hi, Pogo the Clown AKA John W. Gacy taken Dec. 1977.” Gacy has affixed his name and address return label. This is the only genuine signed photograph of John Wayne Gacy as Pogo that we have seen. In excellent condition.
