FORD, Gerald R. (1913-2006) 38th President of the United States (1974-1977). As Vice-President he acceded to the Presidency upon the resignation of Richard Nixon. This was a first in American history. President Ford pardoned former president Richard M. Nixon. T.L.S. June 5, 1975 on the printed letterhead of “The White House, Washington, June 5, 1975. To Robin Grossman. Ford writes: “Dear Robin, It was good to receive your letter and to learn about your concern for the quality of our environment. Perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can leave to future generations is a cleaner world in which to live....you can help in the effort to control the pollution of our land...” Signed with a very bold signature by the Autopen. This letter was sent back to President Ford at a later date requesting the letter be signed with a genuine ink signature to which Ford replied. A most interesting combination of signatures.....$375.00
