Took Jackies ring from JFK’s corpse
BURKLEY, Vice-Admiral George G. 1902-1991). Physician to Eisenhower, LBJ and JFK. John F. Kennedy’s personal physician who rode in the Dallas motorcade and on Air Force One with JFK’s body to Wahington. He was present at the autopsy and some accounts say he ran it. He signed the White House Death Certificate. Burkley took possession of JFK’s brain and tissue slides. Questions now abound about Burkley’s handling of the now missing brain of JFK. On November 22, Jackie removed the wedding band from her left hand and slipped it on the presidents’ finger. The casket was then closed. The ring would be returned later that evening by George Burkley who removed it from the President’s finger after the autopsy. Mourning cover depicting the Tragic Kennedy Story.
