Pioneers on the Same Leaf

- ECKNER, Dr. Hugo. (1868-1954). German aeronaut; Director of German Aerial Navigation
Co. (1911). President of Zeppelin Co. (1924). Builder of the
Graf Zeppelin in which he circled the earth (1929). He built
and delivered to the U.S. the derigible "Los Angeles."
In WWI he trained many military air pilots for the German Army.

- DORNIER, Dr. Claude. (1884-1969). German airplane builder and designer. Began construction
of all metal planes (1914); owner of the aircraft plant at Friedrichshafen
(1929); built the DO-X which was the longest passenger airplane
of its time once carrying 169 persons. He later manufactured
fast bombers, reconnaissance flying boats and torpedo carrying
airplanes.

- Document Signed, Gorgeous Printed Leaf bearing the full signatures of Eckner and Dornier
just beneath the German Republic seal. A printed legend reads:
"In Tribute to the Pioneers of Germany Whose Lives and Services
have been given to the Science of Aeronautics, This page has
